Jacobs Ladders Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Scotland
Crespecular rays shine from around the edges of clouds and I hoped I would get the chance to photograph the little island tree illuminated by a solitary shaft of sunlight. The anticipation of that nearly caused me to miss the reverse situation which I now think to be an even more powerful picture. Instead the tree is silhouetted behind a shaft of sunlight where the light has painted the land beyond emerald green and the water a glittering band of silver. Flawless and a signature image.
