Winter Loch Clair Loch Clair, Torridon, Scotland
Snow on high mountains always enthralls me and always seems to lend the Scottish mountains a majesty they richly deserve. Liathach is one of the finest Torridonian peaks and looms over Loch Clair reflecting in its surface. A series of very cold days had caused most of the loch to freeze over but this small section still survived the encroaching ice so I nestled the reflected peak in a sky of dawn purple neatly between two islands of luxuriant yellow grass the two colours are of such opposite hue that they provide a wonderful contrast of colour on an otherwise dull day.
