Deep Freeze Crask Inn   Crask Inn, Sutherland, Scotland

This would probably have to be my favourite single shot of the entire day outing into Sutherland travelling the Lairg to Tongue road through deepest Sutherland.  As soon as I saw these birches I pretty much knew this would be the one I treasured most.  The light is sumptuous on the trees and show with a golden hue of late afternoon, the shadows gently chilled and blue and the distant mountains pure white bisected by ribbons of floating cloud  Add to that a wandering flock of snow carpeted sheep and the recipe was divine indeed.
