Golden Copse Affric   Glen Affric, Highlands, Scotland

For some reason best known to themselves Scottish Water seem to be intent on keeping the water levels incredibly low and as such a huge and ugly dirt and mud scar is left around the perimeter of the lochs that make up Glen Affric.  Terrible for photographers and hardly visually attractive to the many walkers, cyclists and  Scotlands tourist industry.  All is not completely lost as the dead stumps now visible above the mire form an interesting though admittedly macabre graveyard to the golden birch in full autumn regalia.
