Layers Traigh Mhor   Traigh Mhor, Harris, Scotland

Traigh Mhor beach on the Isle of Harris is probably my favourite anywhere in the UK.  It has very granular orange sand which causes the rough seas that pound the west coast of the island to create large foaming tide lines of white spume.  These tide fronts push out a tiny tumbling mass of sand and when the tide can go no further up the beach then a skirt of sand is left hence the cobweb line on the beach.  On this occasion the lines were echoed all the way through to the skyline through which the sun was setting.
