Lined With Gold   Forres, Moray, Scotland

Scotland has many dense pine forests which generally I find unattractive and sterile, their saving grace is the uniform repeating patterns that they form.  Unfortunately they are still so dark and sombre that those patterns are rarely revealed properly but on this occasion I had a great white reflector on the ground; snow,  with raking light screaming in sideways painting a golden stripe down one side of every tree in the forest and then the snow bouncing light up the trunks I was confronted with a very beautiful cathedral of light.
