Moody Bowfiddle   Portknockie, Moray, Scotland

The weather forecast was wrong.  I was supposed to get a dazzling sunset beneath a layer of cloud instead I got a blanket of cloud so thick and dark that the contrast ratios between sky and sea were virtually identical.  The surface glare being non existent and with a little help from my high viewpoint and a polariser to look into the turquoise sea rescued what could otherwise have been a rather ordinary shot taken in murky light.  I chose to use a long exposure to create a surf line around the stacks and rocky foreshore which happily contrasts with the rough texture of the rocks themselves.
