Red Shed   Blairs Loch, Forres, Scotland

This little boat shed nestles in one corner of Blairs Loch and is used to house some rather dull ordinary grey plastic shell boats which are themselves used for fly fishing.  Fortunately the boats are usually well hidden or completely absent because the boat shed itself is really quite attractive in a strange dilapidated way.  Long ago it was painted red and is technically in need of a repaint.  I for one hope they don't bother as peeling paint is definitely in character with the place.  The boat shed looks great in Spring surrounded by greenery where it makes a statement of new complementing old but for me the presence of heavy snow lends it real Christmas card appeal.
