Skye Sky
Sligachan, Skye, Scotland
This was the most perfect of April mornings with the most amazing sky over the tops of the Black Cuillin ridge. The triple pack bridge that spans the river is a wonderful feature that anchors the image and makes the scene special by lending it a sense of place unmistakable to anyone who has visited Skye. I am a great believer in utilising large areas of an image to let a grand scenic breathe and create the impression of open space, especially when that area is filled with such an outstanding sky. Once again this is a backlit shot and the dynamic range was considerably larger than the film could handle. Four stops of neutral density graduated filter was used to hold back the sky to a realistic level that matched my own vision. Photo © copyright by Ian Cameron.
