Slash Of Rape   Duffus, Moray, Scotland

When pictures are reduced to the barest elements then often the best images result.  I have always been very pleased with this shot.  It was a very stormy day with patches of fleeting sunlight passing over large open fields illuminating some sections and leaving other bits in comparative darkness.  Eventually I came across this and realised that I had found my shot, simple diagonal layers of green unripened wheat, yellow oil seed rape and grey cloud with a slither of blue sky.  I waited for a couple of fleeting patches of light to play across the field before taking the shot, which has given it remarkable depth despite being a panoramic.
