Stone Cold Clair   Loch Clair, Torridon, Scotland

The sun had not yet risen on this very cold and frosty morning at Loch Clair but the ice was expanding as the temperature was still very much sub-zero.  The hoar frosted reeds marched out across the iced reflection of Liathach snow capped and beginning to adopt a rosy hue as one of the first objects to get illuminated by the rising sun.. A low viewpoint allowed me to take in a delicious tumble of frosted stones as a foreground element which added some much needed colour to my composition.
