Wild Water Torridon   Torridon, Highlands, Scotland

Glen Torridon is an incredibly wild looking place with lots of native and particularly gnarly and ancient looking scots pine trees and sculpted bedrock.  Thundering down through rock and tree roots is the Torridon river on its way to Loch Maree.  I chose the single moment, all of a minute's duration, when the little island pine flared with evening sunlight giving a little more three dimensional appeal to an otherwise busy picture.  In complex layered scenery such as this I try to use differential lighting to both reveal and conceal various aspects of my chosen composition.
