The combination of Mull and Glencoe might not seem an obvious one, but it isn't too difficult to string the two together.  The Ardnamurchan peninsula is but a short 15 minute crossing by ferry across Loch Linnhe at Corran and then after a short drive another wee ferry of 30 minutes to access the Isle of Mull itself.  Mull offers towering cliffs, waterfalls, rock arches, bleak moorlands and some very pretty beaches not to mention some crumbling old boats, a castle and access to delightful Iona with its white sand beaches and old abbey.  It is in fact a very strong and different addition to the mountains and lofty moorlands of Glencoe.  The two locations together make the long trek to Scotland well worthwhile and a week should be long enough to do both justice with plenty of variety.  Mull and to a certain extent Glencoe aren't noted for their Autumn fall colour, there aren't that many trees, but what each does have in abundance is deer grass and in mid November that deer grass changes from green to gold and then to flaming orange.  Peak colour of these grasses should be just about have reached their zenith and if we are lucky enough to get our first dusting of snow on the high summits it should be a visual treat with moody monochromatic tops and a warm fiery base colour.

During this combination workshop, we will be spending three days on Mull followed by four more in Glencoe.  The Fairways Lodge is a high standard bed and breakfast location which will be exclusively used by us for the duration of our stay there.  The location is very close to Tobermory the "Capital City" of Mull and we can choose to dine out in the evening with relative ease. Tobemory is a beautiful little port town with dozens of coloured houses latterly made famous in a children's television programmme.   Our stay at the Fairways Lodge is adjacent to a golf course and we will stay there on a single occupancy of double or twin bedded rooms basis, all rooms en-suite. (please budget around £25 for evening meals), there is free Wifi and the usual coffee and tea making facilities in all en-suite rooms.  At Glencoe we will be based at an old favourite, namely the Loch Leven hotel, it is very comfortable, has cosy rooms and serves excellent evening meals.  As with the Fairways Lodge on Mull you will be staying single occupancy of twin or double ensuite rooms on a bed and breakfast basis so once again please budget approximately £22 per night for evening meals.

I am pretty sure that this combination will prove a very compelling choice so grab a spot on this course while you can.
