Budget workshops are a no frills affair designed to keep costs to a minimum and put maximum emphasis on high quality tutelage at stunning locations. Your accommodation for the four day course will be at the Dun Flodigarry independant hostel close to the village of Staffin, a fabulous location offering tremendous views out to sea and towards the magnificent Quiraing.  It is a friendly bustling place with pretty good facilities and a four star hotel nearby where a decent pub meal can be had if you don't fancy self catering every day. 

The four day course will also be at the dramatically sited Dun Flodigarry independant hostel near Staffin which is near to my favourite area of Skye, the Quiraing.

There will be short hikes into the bizarre and magnificent Quiraing and into the spookily surreal valley at the foot of the Old Man of Storr, followed by a moderate climb to the best and most photogenic vantage points.  We will definitely be visiting the legendary Elgol beach with its magnificent view of the Cuillin ridge over rocky foreshore and if conditions are suitable we will head over to Neist Point Lighthouse (see above).

The Dun  Flodigarry hostel has basic but comfortable rooms with a decent sized dining area, kitchen and a lounge room. The bedrooms contain dormitory style bunk beds. All catering is entirely your own responsibility. Whether you opt to self cater or dine out locally.  There's a hotel within 200 yards of the hostel. Transient Light will be happy to provide transport and all possible assistance to smooth your stay.


Grade: Moderate Medium distance walks with moderate inclines reasonable fitness required.
