The 2017 North District Cross Country Relays were held at Edderton near Tain on a beautiful autumnal say laced with a bit of wind which grew stronger as the day progressed. The Edderton course was laid out over 2.75 kilometres for the juniors and involved some minor slopes and undulations on a soft grass covered course. Junior teams came from as far afield as Stornoway which was great to see and multiple teams from the bigger clubs including Inverness, the hosts, East Sutherland, Ross county and Moray Road Runners. The junior teams consisted of three age groups both boys and girls teams U13, U15 and U17 with the lower age group being allowed to participate as a team member for the next higher age group where deemed pertinent or necessary. the Forres boys team consisted of Bruce Evans U13, Oliver Watson U15 and Ben Cameron moving up a category to run in the U17 class. The girls team consisted of Rosalind MacRitchie U13, Isobel Howard U15 and Lauren Cameron U17. Both teams ended up in 7th place. Ross County manage to put out 3 teams in the boys race and Inverness a colossal 5 teams in the girls race.
