Limpet Sanctuary
Hopeman, Moray, Scotland
These amazing chunks of tortured and twisted golden sandstone chunks a couple of meters or so long are by the waters edge at Hopeman on the Moray coast. They are covered in roving limpets that seek shelter in the sandstone crevices and show off nicely the opposing cool and warm hues of sandstone and swirling sea water and additionally the contrast of textures of the perforated and eroded crinkly sharp edged sandstone and the silky softness of moving tidal water oozing between the rocks.
