Cummingston, Moray, Scotland
Secreted away on the Moray coast is the tiny seaside village of Cummingston. It appears on the face of it to be an entirely unremarkable section of coast but a closer look will reveal some of the most sublimely colourful sandstone cliffs and rock formations I have seen anywhere in the UK. Pride of the bunch though must go to the sea caves which are revealed only at extreme low water. Negotiating the treacherous rocks reveals sandstone caves containing the most astonishingly pebble collections in a rainbow of toxic colours and sea scoured shapely depressions. I have spent hours inside them, often barely escaping as the incoming tide returns to trap the unwary. Hope you enjoy this very fine naturally occurring unembellished rock art.
