Herring Gull Chicks

A devastatingly beautiful sunrise show from the cliff tops overlooking the magnificent Bowfiddle Rock, Moray's icon, at Portknockie it was an obscenely early summer morning just shy of the longest day with the cliff top flowering thrift now past its prime. The bonus being a couple of nesting Herring Gulls on the clifftop with their fluffy brood of three speckled chicks having a whale of a time playing with some shed feathers amongst the dead flowering heads right at the cliff edge.
