Hill Charge

Cioch Mhor, Dingwall, Scotland

The Junior Alex Brett Cioch Mhor memorial run takes place over a distance of 4Km and climbs 230m.  It is a very tough course probably the toughest on the junior circuit.  Ben Cameron my son won the event last year and was hoping to do the same this year having moved up an age group to under 17.  He is particularly good at climbing and technical steep down hill but relatively poor on flat or slightly downhill ground.  ben established a solid lead on the climb but was overtaken by the junior event winner Hamish Hickey on the downhill section but was only 7 seconds behind the leading lad.  The winning time was 22 minutes 16 seconds with Ben finishing an easy second in 22 minutes and 23 seconds.  Never-the-less he earned maximum points in his age group category for the Junior Scottish Hill Running Championship series.
