Living on the Edge
Loch Maree, Wester Ross, Scotland
This old tree possibly a Rowan by the waters edge at Loch Maree is an old favourite of mine and it always seems to me that it looks at its best in suitably meloncholly conditions namely pouring rain so heavy it obscures any view behind. I had moments of just such weather but I must admit I was taken with the patterns of the raindrops striking the still waters of Loch Maree as well as the more graphic shapes when it poured heavily rendering the backdrop almost invisible.
