Stormy Seas Crohy Head
Crohy Head, Donegall, Ireland
On a very precarious and steep path it is possible to descend down the cliff face at Crohy Head on the Donegall coast to view and photograph some shapely stacks and a rock arch nestled amongst ochre colored sandstone cliffs. We visited it in late Spring where large patches of nodding thrift and canary yellow Birdsfoot Trefoil adorned the grassy rock ledges providing some seasonal colour and lighter entertainment to the angry surging sea that pummeled the stacks and cliff face below. In general I preferred the visual contrast of soft swirling sea and dagger sharp corrugated rocks garnered from a relatively extended exposure time to the more defined faster shutter speeds that froze the swirling waters but each to their own, fine light and the personal preference of the structure of the swirling sea justify the number of images displayed and taken.
