Tree Trunks Glenferness
Glenferness, Moray, Scotland
At the very top of the hill upon which the lodgepole pine woods at Glenferness stands, it was both misty and snowing which rendered the trees as a set of receding vertical columns of decreasing clarity and that was hugely evocative. The prevailing winds had coated the flank of each tree with soft white powdery snow and the cold light stained the snow vaguely blue imparting a cold frigid cast to the scene. Mood and motive are everything to me in a landscape picture and for me at least this is a very successful image that has those traits by the bucket load. Photo © copyright by Ian Cameron.
